Band Update (10/11/15)

Reminders This Week

- Monday, Oct. 12th is an evening band rehearsal, 6-9pm and will also be Band Parent Night. This is the last rehearsal before Regionals and Mr. Emmons would love to have all of our parents there to support the band at the final performance run-through at 8:20 pm. Immediately following this (at approximately 8:40 pm), the band will invite the parents onto the field to experience what it is like to march in formation. Please plan on attending to cheer on the band and have some fun on the field!

- Regional 4A Competition is next Tuesday, Oct 13th at the Sports Authority Stadium in Parker. The band students will rehearse after school from 2:30-3:30 pm. We will then load the truck and buses and depart for Sports Authority Stadium in Parker at 4:30 pm. We will have a light dinner upon arrival and then go through the warm-up process beginning at 6:25 pm. The band is scheduled to perform at 7:45 pm. Students are allowed to leave with a parent after our performance. The announcement of scores is scheduled to be done at 9:00 pm and the buses will return to LHS around 9:45-10:00 pm. - Our next fundraising night is coming up on Wednesday, Oct. 14th, from 5:30–7:30 pm at the Southglenn Chick-fil-A! Please stop by or drive-thru before or after Parent/Teacher Conferences. - The CBA Regional 5A Marching Band Competition is Thursday, Oct.15th and the LHS Lion Pride Marching Band is the host of this event. Please help the band make this a success by volunteering a few hours of your time! We still are short volunteers in some critical positions. - The Home Football Game on Friday, Oct. 16th, is a Pep Band Only game (students perform in the stands and no half-time show on the field). Since there is no school in LPS that day, many of our students will not be here due to college visits, mini-vacations and such. Mr. Emmons will have a signup for all students that wish to participate in the Pep Band for this game. The only parent volunteers needed will be to set up stadium seating.

Looking Ahead

- Evening Band Rehearsals are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21st & Thursday, Oct. 22nd from 6:00-9:00 pm.

-Quarter-Final 4A CBA State Competition is scheduled for Friday afternoon/evening, Oct. 23rd at CSU in Fort Collins. We will not know what time the band performs until the Regional competitions are complete after Oct.15th. If the band does well at Quarter-Finals and advances, the Semi-Finals are scheduled for Saturday afternoon, Oct. 24th also at CSU.
