Message from Mr. Emmons

Littleton High School Lion Pride Marching Band
"LHS Band Parents,

I look forward to seeing all of your at our next Band Parent meeting this Monday, August 6th at 7pm in the LHS Bandroom. While we will be discussing several important matters for our upcoming Marching Band season, one highlight of the evening will be the presence of Music Representatives from Music and Arts who will be presenting a fund-raising project for our band parents to participate in. We are being asked to help Music and Arts run their various student Instrument Rental nights (no instrument skill or expertise required). I am simply requesting that you be at this meeting to get the necessary information about working at one of their upcoming Instrumental nights. As a band, we receive fundraiser monies for every parent who works an Instrumental Rental night. This fundraiser opportunity is local, requires very little time and will generate enough monies to meet our fundraiser goals for the year. I look forward to seeing all of you there on Monday evening.

We are in desperate need of 2 more families to house/host students from Japan. We need one family to host a single male student and one family to house 2 male students. Please let me know that you can assist us with this Cultural Exchange. Many and sincere thanks to the McLaughlin Family, the Leach Family, the Cogdal Family, the McNealy Family, the Durston Family, the Shigaya Family, the Encinias Family, the Vandenberg Family, the Petty Family, the Jacobs Family, the Mathys Family and the Emmons Family for being willing to house/host these students coming from Takayama, Japan.

Finally, we will be in need of some drivers with either a pick-up truck or a trailer to transport our percussion equipment and Sousaphones to the State Fair on Saturday August 25th. If you are able to help us out and drive a pick-up truck or large vehicle or tow a trailer on that day, please let me know. We usually need 3 - 4 vehicles for this event. This is the only event that we will need our band parents to help us transport equipment. Thank you in advance.

Work Day

Littleton High School Lion Pride Marching Band
"Lion Pride" Band Parents,

This coming Saturday, August 4th, will be our first work-day at Littleton High School. From 9am - 4pm, we will be working on the various projects necessary to support our band and colorguard students for our upcoming show season. Projects for the day include: organizing the outside storage room, building the individual platforms for the show, constructing or reconstructing our front side-line scrims, organizing our sound system carts. There is something for everyone to do and help-out with. Anyone who can bring tools for wood construction (saws, power screwdrivers, etc.) would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Don Emmons, Instrumental Music Director
