Band apparel will be available at the high school tonight

When the band comes back to the school from Pueblo, I will have the band apparel waiting.  For those of you who have not yet paid, checks can be made to Encore.

ALSO, I have one hooded weatherproof jacket available for sale, size XXL.  Cost is $45.  The apparel lady made one extra by accident.

Dear LHS Band Parents,

Thank you again for your active support of our "Lion Pride" Marching Band students.  They are doing great.  Our evening rehearsal last night went extremely well.  Your students worked very hard and accomplished a great deal.  I am very proud of their work and effort. 

A few reminders:  the evening rehearsal originally scheduled for this evening (Wednesday Aug. 22) has been moved to tomorrow evening (Thursday Aug. 23) from 6 - 9pm.  We got moved due a conflict with athletics from AHS.  Also, we will be taking the entire marching band to the Glenmoor Country Club this Friday afternoon to perform at the LHS FUNraiser.  We will meet in the band room at 4:30pm, change into full uniforms, travel by bus to Glenmoor Country Club, perform for 25 minutes and then return by bus to LHS in time to be at the Football game to perform the National Anthem before the game and then our show at halftime that night.  We are offering the students dinner at 4pm on friday afternoon if they would like to take advantage of it.

For Saturday Aug. 25th, we need at least three vehicles to take our equipment to the State Fair.  It has worked best with 2 pick-up trucks and someone who has access to a 8' x 10' trailer.  Please let me know if you have one of these types of vehicles and can be with us for the State Fair day.  I really need to know if anyone has access to a trailer that we can use for the day. 

Keep the donations of bottled water with the sport tops coming, we need more cases for our parade on Saturday.

Band apparel delay

Due to my being new at apparel ordering, and because of some problems with our band wear supplier, we will not be getting the shirts by Friday.  For those of you who are new and don't have band shirts already, if you are planning to walk with the band, any black shirt will work fine.  I will let everyone know as soon as I get the  band shirts in.

Dear band parents,

The food committee is looking for a few good volunteers! It's a fun and easy way to help the band and keep our kids fueled for their events.

Our job is to organize and set up lunches for the kids at the 5 all-day competition festivals of the season, and 1 breakfast before the Colorado State Fair. Chances are you may be at one or more of these events anyway! The lunches are pot luck and we get a lot of great food from the parents. Our job is to plan it, transport it and set it up at the event.....and then we get a lot of hugs and gratitude from the kids. They love it!

If you can lend a hand at some or all of these events and would like to be part of the food committe, please email me back.

The Band is in need of water with sport tops for the up coming events.

These will be needed for the performance at the State Fair this coming Saturday so it would be great to have them at the school by Thursday.
