State Semifinal Competition & Banquet Update

State Marching Competition - 

Yesterday our "Lion Pride" Marching Band performed at the State Quarterfinal Competition at CSU. They received their highest score of the season with a 69.45 and will now be moving on to the Semifinal Competition today. They perform at 1:00 at CSU Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins. Please come and support the band if you can!!

Band Banquet -

It has been decided that the Band Banquet will still be held next Friday, October 30th as originally scheduled. More information will be coming out very shortly!

Band Update (10/19/15)

Reminders

Wednesday, Oct 21 & Thursday, Oct 22 – There will be evening band rehearsals from 6:00-9:00 pm.

Friday, Oct 23 – The band competes in Quarterfinals at the CSU Hughes Stadium in Ft. Collins. The students will rehearse from 10:30-11:45 am and then we will load the truck. The busses and truck will plan on leaving LHS at 12:45 pm. Students will be given a sack lunch to eat on the bus but will need to bring money for dinner. The 4A portion of the Quarterfinals Competition runs 2:30-5:45 pm. Littleton High School will perform at 4:45 pm. Tickets for the event are $15 adults and $12 students/seniors. Saturday, Oct 24 – Provided the band advances, they will perform in the Semifinal Competition at the CSU Hughes Stadium in Ft. Collins. Call time for the students would most likely be between 7:30-8:30 am, but this is dependent on their scheduled performance time which could be anywhere from 12:30-2:30 pm. Students would once again be provided a sack lunch but would need to bring money for dinner. The 4A portion of the Semifinal Competition runs from 12:30-4:00 pm. Tickets for the event are $16 adults and $13 students/seniors. If the band advances to the Final Competition, they would perform again that evening. The 4A/5A Final Competition runs from 5:15-9:45 pm. Tickets for this event are $17 adults and $14 students/seniors. Tickets can be purchased for both Semi/Final events for $28 adults, $24 students/seniors. There is also a $5 parking fee for the spectator parking lot. Looking Ahead

Week of Oct 26 – The next Germany payment of $200 is due. Student payments can be made by credit card through the school online payment system or paid by cash/check directly to the LHS bookkeeper. All family members/tag-along payments will still need to be mailed directly to the travel agency, AdvantEdge Travel & Tours, 6480 South Downing Street, Centennial, CO 80121. Thursday, Oct 29 – There is a home football game at 7:00 pm. The marching band will be performing “Thriller” as their halftime show. Middle school band students are invited to perform with the band in the stands and at halftime and all students are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes.

Friday, Oct 30 – This is the scheduled date for our end-of-season Band Banquet in the cafeteria at LHS. However, there is a possibility this may need to be re-scheduled to Friday, Nov 13. Please keep both dates available and we will provide more information on the final date shortly. Typically, following the Banquet there is an overnight Band Lock-in at the school. However, until all ongoing construction is completed, we will be unable to hold a Band Lock-in at the school.

Monday, Nov 2 – Continental League Auditions will be held at Highlands Ranch High School from 3:00-7:00 pm.

Quarterfinal/Semifinal Meal Donations

We're in the Home Stretch, Band Parents!

THANK YOU for your generous monetary donations for the Regional meal for the band kids!!  

That system worked well, so we will be doing it again for Quarter and Semi-Finals. The band will receive a sack lunch after rehearsal and eat on the bus ride to CSU. You can bring cash or a check made payable to Stacey Shigaya the day of the event, have your student give it to Cami at school or send a check in the mail to Stacey at 8634 E Eastman Ave, Denver 80231.
