Emergency Request for a Fundraiser Possibility

Dear LHS Marching Band Parents,

Thank you all again for your incredible work and support of our "Lion Pride" Marching Band traveling to and competing in the Colorado State Fair Parade this past Saturday in Pueblo.  It was a GREAT Day for our Band and Colorguard and we owe much of our success to you and your efforts.

Would you also please take a moment to consider if you would be able to help us out with another fundraiser opportunity that just came our way.  We are looking for 30 adult volunteers to work a few hours before the Bronco's game tomorrow afternoon/evening (Thurs. Aug 29th).  Details are:  be at LHS by 2:30pm in order to ride a bus down to Sports Authority Stadium.  Work until 6:45pm passing out fliers and programs (no selling).  Get back on the bus to return to LHS by 7:45pm.  

If we can get 30 adult volunteers, the Bronco's will donate $1500 to our Marching Band program.  This is a fantastic fundraiser at an inconvenient time as we have our own Football game and Marching Band performance that evening here at LHS.  It is timed that you would be back in time to help with our Halftime show and to see our band perform.  

This can be our band parents plus any friends who might be willing to help you out.  All adults are welcome to come help.

IMPORTANT!!!   I need to have a firm committment by 9pm tonight.

Important State Fair Information

Hello State Fair-bound Band Families!

We have posted important information and maps on the Bands website

This year the fair is going “cashless” i.e. fair-goers will be required to use a card to buy their food, drinks and rides.  The card costs $1 and there are 150 cashless system kiosks located inside the Fairgrounds.  More information can be found at:

So….be mindful of the amount of money you load onto the card.  You can get a refund of the unused balance online or keep it on the card for next year.

Reminders for the week of August 18th 2013

Tuesday           Aug. 20^th         6 – 9pm.   Evening  Band Rehearsal at LHS

                                                  7 - 9 pm.   Parent meeting- Music and Arts training. This 

                                                                    training must be completed in order to participate in

                                                                    the Music and Arts  Music/Band Night fundraisers.  

Thursday         Aug. 22^nd                           5pm Call time Performance at LHS PTO 

                                                                    Fundraiser Event at Glenmoor Country Club.

Saturday          Aug. 24^th                         Colorado State Fair Parade in Pueblo. Call time
