Band Update (07/31/2016)

Thanks to all who attended the band parent meeting last Monday. It was wonderful to see such a good turnout! Mr. Emmons went over many details that involve the band/parents in the next month. Much of this info you will see reflected in the Weekly Band Update as schedule changes/additions as well as in the info/needs section. 

Yesterday (Saturday) we had a Parent Work Day. Thank you to the many parents & students who came to help. Mr. Emmons was very pleased with the work we accomplished!

Schedule for the next two weeks

Monday, August 1 - Band Parent Meeting has been cancelled. We will schedule another one later this month.

Monday-Thursday, August 1-4 - 9:00-3:30 pm Band Camp

Friday, August 5 -  9:00-2:00 pm Band Camp
                            3:00-5:30 pm Band Pictures and welcome Takayama students
                            5:30-6:30 pm Dinner for band students/parents/Takayama visitors
                            7:00-8:00 pm Band students perform field show in uniform for audience

Saturday, August 6 - Carwash fundraiser (Takayama students are welcome to join too!)

Monday-Wednesday, August 8-10 - 9:00-3:30 pm Band Camp

Wednesday, August 10 - 4:30-8:30 pm End of Band Camp Picnic at Bellevue Park (Look for more details and a food signup soon!)

Additional Info/Needs

Band Directories will be passed out before the performance as well.

The Signups are out for both the Western Welcome Week Parade & the State Fair Parade/Concert Performance. Please note that all volunteers that sign up for the State Fair by August 5th will receive a free ticket for admission to the fair! Band Fees will be paid through the student LHS accounts this year. The bookkeeper will be inputting these fees into REVTrack once the class schedules are finalized. This is normally a couple weeks after the start of the school year.

A meeting for all those interested or already signed up to go on the Hawaii Trip over Spring Break will be announced soon after school starts.

Donations Needed

2 EZ Up Canopy Tents (to borrow for season or as a donation) - Can be dropped off in Band Room.

Monetary donations to buy concessions for our CBA event in October - Checks of any amount can be made out to LHS Marching Band CBA and given to Nikki Sheeran.
