Band Update (11/30/15)

Upcoming Events

-Week of Nov 30th - Germany trip payment of $200 due. (Please note there will be no payment due in December.)

-Saturday, Dec 5th - Festival of Lights Parade in Colorado Springs
Call time for the students is 1:00pm at LHS. Students will get their uniforms on at this time in order to do a final fitting of our lighted parade outfits. We will then get on buses and depart by 2:00pm to travel to Fargo's Pizza in Colorado Springs. We will stop at Fargo's Pizza for lunch/dinner from 3-4:45pm. (Please note that students will need to bring money for this meal.) We will then transfer over to the Palmer High School Auxiliary Gym on N Nevada Ave. between E Boulder and E St. Vrain. The buses and cars with parents and other supplies will stop here to allow the students to change into their band uniforms/performance outfits and get their instruments ready to go. When the band is completely ready, the buses will travel to the end of the parade route and park on E Vermijo Ave. between S Tejon and S Nevada Ave. to wait for the band to finish the parade.

The Littleton High School "Lion Pride" Marching Band is #68 in this parade and we are the last band in the parade and we are slotted right before Santa's Sleigh at the end of the parade. The Parade begins at 5:50pm and should begin performing on the street by 7:00pm and finish the parade by 7:45pm. We will then load the buses and travel back to LHS where we should arrive between 9:15-9:30pm.

Please see the following Information Sheet for additional info:

For this parade, parents of Senior band members will have priority walking as volunteers with the band since this will be the Senior's last parade. (Lynn Wells will be organizing this. Please let her know if you'd like to help.) All Band parents are welcome to join us in Colorado Springs at Fargo's Pizza and are highly encouraged to watch the parade which travels South on Tejon Ave. from E St. Vrain down to E Vermijo Ave. Like the Western Welcome Week and State Fair Parades, this is a one-way parade in which any parents with cars will need to figure out where to park in order to either march with the band or to watch the parade and get back to their car afterwards. We do have room for 10-12 parents to ride the buses for this event. Please let Mr. Emmons know if you'd like to ride the bus.

-Monday, Dec. 7th - Combined Rehearsal for the Band Concert from 2:20-3:10pm in the bandroom. Anyone going to hear Temple Grandin at 4:00pm will have plenty of time to do both.

-Tuesday, Dec 8th at 7:00 pm - Band Concert at LHS in the newly renovated auditorium.

- Wednesday, Dec 9th - All-State Band Auditions at Heritage High School between 1:00-3:00pm. All students who are doing these auditions have already signed-up and have a time-slot already reserved for them at Heritage that afternoon.

*Any students intending to audition for the CU Honor Band, need to see Mr. Emmons ASAP.

- Wednesday-Friday, Dec 9-11 from 3:00-4:30 pm - Pit Orchestra Auditions for the school musical ("The Producers")
