Marching Band Parents a Couple of Quick Reminders

Dear LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band Parents,

A couple of quick reminders:

1.  This Saturday, July 26th, we are having a Parent work-day at Littleton High School for the "Lion Pride" Marching Band program.  We would like as many of you as possible to come to the LHS Band room from 9am - 1pm to help us with several projects pertaining to the Band program and this year's show in particular.  There will be something to do for everyone.  Please come and help.

2.  We are getting desperate for some more families to help us with hosting the students coming from Takayama, Japan.  They will arrive at LHS on Friday afternoon, August 8th at 5pm and they will stay with you Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday and then leave at 8am on Monday morning, August 11th.  We have plans for everyone to be together for dinner on Friday evening at the Concert in Sterne park by the Denver Concert Band, our own LHS Drumline will also be performing there that evening and there is a Fireworks show at the end of the concert.  We will then gather on Saturday afternoon for games and fun.  On Sunday, we will all gather again for a Farewell Dinner Party.  I encourage you to host students in your home as they want to experience culture in America and our families who have done this before have had very positive experiences.  Please contact Deanna Encinias to sign-up to host students at dencinias@lps.k12.co.us.

3.  We have made some slight adjustments to our schedule.  Our Band Pictures will need to be on Friday afternoon, August 8th at 3:30pm.  Right after the pictures, we will perform the music of our show for the students from Takayama, Japan.  The schedule is posted online at the LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band website.

4.  Our Full Band Camp begins this coming Monday, July 28th at 12:30pm.  Each day will be from 12:30pm - 8:30pm with a break for dinner from 4:30pm - 5:15pm.  Students can either bring a sack dinner or go out for dinner at one of the surrounding area fast-food restaurants.  I am looking very forward to this week with our band students as we will be learning the music for the entire show, work on drill movement for the show and work on parade and stands music.

Thank you so much for all of your support of your students in t he LHS Band program.
