Upcoming Marching Band Events (10/18/2016)

It's hard to believe that there are only 11 more days left in the marching band season this year! Thank you so much to those of you that have dedicated so much time supporting the students this fall. The students and directors really appreciate it! The next 2 weeks are quite busy for the marching band and we still need help if you are able to volunteer any time to help out at the following events:

10/20/2016 - CBA 5A Regional Competition - Our FUNDRAISER
Thank you to those that have signed up to work a shift or bring food for the judges. However, we still have many positions are not covered and desperately need more help to make this fundraiser a success! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa4a92ca57-20165

10/21/2016 - Last Home Football Game & Senior Night

The band received a season high score of 66.75 at Regionals last night. This should place them in a good position to compete at the State Quarterfinal Competition next Friday at the Air Force Academy. Donations for Thank You Gifts

Hello Lion Pride families,

Congratulations to your students on their continuing hard work and great performances, and best wishes for the remainder of the season!

As is tradition, we'd like to acknowledge the dedication of our wonderful staff with thank-you gifts from all of our families. We are collecting money to purchase Visa gift cards that will be presented to Don Emmons (Director), Jess Quintana (Drumline Instructor), Julia Bransgrove (Assistant Band Director), Kathryn Minney (Colorguard Instructor), Ashley Winters (Colorguard Staff), and Marsha Prokuski (Brass and Woodwinds Staff) at the end-of-season banquet on November 4, 2016. We hope to collect enough money to purchase smaller tokens of thanks for our techs--Joe Encinias (Drum Tech) and Ellaurah Ashby (Colorguard Tech)--who support our students and keep them in time, in step, and looking and sounding fabulous. We ask that all families contribute to these gifts, in whatever amounts they feel comfortable.

Nancy Egelhoff will be collecting funds and purchasing the gift cards. Your contributions in the form of cash or check (made payable to Nancy Egelhoff) may be:

(1) given to Nancy or Marty Egelhoff at a band performance or at the CBA 5A event on Thursday, 10/20/16;
(2) mailed (checks only, please) to 3723 South Newport Way, Denver, CO  80237; or
(3) given to Thomas (10th grade, percussion) at band practice.

Please send in your donations by Monday, October 31, 2016. Please contact Nancy (720-373-3024; nbegelhoff@msn.com) with any questions or comments.

Thank you so much!

Band Update (10/16/2016)

Monday, Oct 17 - CBA 4A Regional Competion at the Echo Park Stadium in Parker
(11901 Newlin Gulch Blvd - Chambers Rd & Newlin Gulch Blvd)
The band will perform at 9:00pm and the placement awards will be announced around 9:30pm. This is the most important competition of the season so far as the band will need to score well enough at this event to qualify to go on to the State Competition. The weather forecast is calling for some windy conditions, so we will most likely need volunteers to sit with the backdrops/scrims to keep them from blowing away! Please see this link for more info and to sign up: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa4a92ca57-20167

Thursday, Oct 20 - CBA 5A Regional Competiton at LHS (our FUNDRAISER)
HELP! WE DESPERATELY NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS TO HELP!! Every band family needs to participate in some way at this event! This is our primary fundraiser for the year and is why our band fees are so low compared to other schools. This fundraiser enables us to feed the band, maintain uniforms, enter competitions, pay for transportation, build props and many other items. Please sign up to help: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa4a92ca57-20165

Friday, Oct 21 - Home Football Game Halftime performance (& Senior night) 7pm
This is the last home football game of the season and we also be an evening to feature all the seniors in the band. Please sign up to help with the halftime show here:

Saturday, Oct 22 - Rehearsal 10:30-2pm (with sound & props)

Saturday, Oct 22 - District Marching Band Showcase (featuring Littleton, Arapahoe & Heritage Bands) 6:30-7:30pm
Come see a performance of all three LPS marching band field shows at the stadium at LHS! This is always a wonderful evening for the students from each school to watch the other shows and feel a sense of community within the intstrumental musicians of the Littleton Public Schools. All middle school band students are encouraged to come watch too!

Tuesday, Oct 25 - Evening Rehearsal 6-9pm (with sound & props)

Friday, Oct 28 - CBA Marching Band State Quarterfinal Competition at The Air Force Academy
The band will likely perform somewhere between 11am-1pm, but we will not know the time until after all Regional Competitions are completed. Plan on taking part of the day off (if you can) to come help and/or cheer on the band! (more info and a signup to come)

Saturday, Oct 29 - Possible CBA Marching Band Semifinal and/or Final Competition at The Air Force Academy
If the band scores well enough in the Friday Quarterfinal Competition (among the top twelve 4A bands in the state), they will compete early Saturday morning in the Semifinal Competition. (We will not know a possible performance time until the outcome of the Quarterfinal Competition on Friday.) Following the morning Semifinal Competition, the top eight bands in 4A will advance to the Finals Competitions Saturday evening. Please keep this date open as we will need many volunteers to help with the field show if the band advances beyond Quarterfinals.

Friday, Nov 4 - End of Season Band Banquet 6pm (more info and a signup to bring food to come)
