LHS Marching Band Parent meeting June 12, 2012


There were 20 parents in attendance.

Mr. Emmons gave introductions. Welcome to our freshman parents!!!

July 6th the Blue Nights Drum and Bugle Corp. will be rehearsing at LHS. The band students are welcome to come any time during the day, in the evening they will be doing a run through of their performance, its free and a great opportunity.

The Drum and Bugle Corp performance will be July 7th.

July 18th during the July band camp CBA Marching and Color guard clinic will be held at LPS stadium. Lunch is being order from Jimmy Johns and help is needed to set up and clean up. If you are available to help please reply to this email.

August 10th through the morning of August 13th Littleton will be hosting 24 students from Japan. Host families are needed for the students to stay with. It is not necessary for you to know how to speak Japanese , the students want to practice English and experience the American family. More information to come.

Come help the Band:
The marching band participates in parades (requires 8-10 parents), home football games (requires 15-20 parents) competitive events (requires 20-25 parents) and is the host for events (require 20-40 parents). We will have sign-up sheets at the band parent meetings, internet sign up or feel free to reply to email requests for help.

Other help is needed to:
• Organize the band and storage rooms. Students are welcome to help!! Dates to follow.
• Building projects- 10 scrims, 18 drum bones and 12 risers. These need to be completed by August 10th. Dates to follow.
• Uniform hemming.
• If you have or know of anyone that has wood or pvc that they would like to donate please let us know!

Bow Mar - Tuesday, August 14th. 4:30 -8pm. Parents are invited!

Next Band Parent Meeting is Monday August 6, 7pm in the LHS band room. 

Band Fee Schedule

Instrumental Band fees this year remain at $200 for band members (plus $30 for shoes if you need them).  Percussion Band students pay an additional $60 ($290 total with shoes).  Colorguard fees are $160 plus an additional uniform and shoe fee (to be determined).  Fee payments may be broken down into four payments due on the following dates:  June 12,  July 16, August 6 and September 4.  If you have any questions about your balance due, please email Mr. Emmons at DEmmons@lps.k12.co.us or Jenni Wainner at lhsencoretreasurer@gmail.com.
