Grand Junction Food Donations

Hello Wonderful Band Parents!

Thank you in advance for your food donations for the Great Trip to Grand Junction!  We will be serving lunch to the students and parent volunteers on Friday and Saturday, Sept 25 and 26. Please drop off your donation in the band room on Tuesday, Sept 22nd or Wed Sept 23rd. I will be at the school at the end of Evening Rehearsal those nights to pick up the donations. Please be sure to label your food with "GRAND JUNCTION DONATION."

Band Update (9/15/15)

Congratulations to the band on a wonderful performance at the Friendship Cup where they won first place in the 3A class! Thanks also to the many volunteers that spent the day helping the band. We couldn't do this without volunteers and your dedication is very much appreciated!!

Reminders for this week

-There will be a Band Parent Meeting tonight (9/15) in the band room from 7:00-8:00 pm. Please plan on attending as Mr. Emmons will be providing important information about many of the upcoming events for Marching Band.

-Homecoming Festivities this week:
Bonfire (stadium parking lot at LHS) Wednesday, Sept.16th from 6:00-8:00 pm.
Homecoming Pep Assembly at school on Friday morning, Sept 18th.
Homecoming Parade after school on Friday, Sept 18th. The parade travels through downtown Littleton (same route as Western Welcome Week Parade). Come join other LHS families to watch the parade from the Merle’s restaurant rooftop. Merle’s will be donating a portion of all food & beverage proceeds to the LHS PTO.

-Evening Band rehearsals will take place next Tuesday, Sept. 22nd & Wednesday, Sept. 23rd from 6:00-9:00 pm.

-Chipotle Fundraiser on Tuesday, Sept 22nd:

Our next fundraiser is coming up next Tuesday, Sept. 22nd at Chipotle!
What: Chipotle Fundraiser at the Chipotle across from LHS
When: Tuesday, Sept. 22nd from 4:00–8:30 pm
How: Stop by for a quick and easy dinner before band rehearsal that evening! Bring in the attached flyer, show it on your phone or just let the cashier know that you are supporting the LHS Marching Band. 50% of the proceeds will go to the band! We hope to see you there! Click here for the flyer:

-The Grand Junction trip (Colorado West Marching Band Festival) is Sept. 25-26. The band will leave LHS early on Friday morning and travel to Grand Junction. They will stop for a rehearsal at a high school near Edwards on the way up. After checking in at the hotel in Grand Junction, the band will have dinner/games at Bananas Fun Park. The band performs in a parade Saturday morning (starting at 10:00 am) and then will perform their field show at Stocker Stadium at 4:00 pm. Following the field show competition/awards, the band will drive back to Littleton arriving very late Saturday night. -The CBA Regional 5A Marching Band Event is Thursday, Oct.15th. The LHS Littleton Marching Band hosts this event and it is the biggest fundraiser for the band each year. It will require the help of nearly every band family in order for this to once again be a success. Additionally, we are required to have medical personnel on hand for the entire event. If you are licensed as a medical professional (ie: nurse, EMT, doctor, etc.), we could really use your help! -Pomona Fest Marching Competition is Saturday, Oct 3rd. A Signup Genius and more details will be sent out (hopefully) within the week.

-Do you have gently used coolers w/attached lids or easy-up canopy tents you’re not using? The band could really use a couple newer ones to use at parades and/or competitions. Please let Marsha Prokuski (cmprokuski@msn.com) know if you might have one you could donate to the band. Thanks!
