IMPORTANT! Regarding Student Encore money (Kings profit, fundraising, etc)

I wanted to once again make sure that everyone understands how their student's Encore account works.  All fundraising money, such as King Soopers card profits, Scool Services (butterbraids) and Wreath sales, accumulates in the student's account until they request that it be used for specific expenses.  Encore DOES NOT automatically apply the student money to trips, band fees, choir expenses, etc.  Encore waits until we receive a written withdrawal request from the student.  Those request forms can either be found in the Performing art teachers rooms, or on either the Encore website or the marching band website:

The student fills out the form, indicates how much needs to be withdrawn from their account, and what it's for (i.e. trip payment, marching band fees), signs it and gives it to their Performing Arts teacher.  Those forms are then sent to Encore where we will process them, withdraw the funds, and pay the requested expenses.

If there are any questions, please email lhsencoretreasurer@gmail.com

Thank you!

Committee help still needed!

Now that we've nearly completed the marching season and many of you have a better idea of the volunteer needs, we are hoping that there are parents that will step up and help as a committee lead for next year. Many of these positions are currently held by parents of seniors, so they will need to be filled.  Here is a link to sign up to help:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa4a92ca57-committee

Upcoming Events:

Wednesday, Dec 14 - Dress Rehearsal for Holiday Band Concert 2:15-4:00pm

Festival of LIghts Parade Info - Dec 3rd

Saturday, Dec 3rd - Festival of Lights Parade in Colorado Springs

As you may have heard from your student(s), we received late word that the band was going to be able to march in the Festival of Lights Parade on Saturday, December 3rd. The students were very excited to once again have the opportunity to march in this fun parade!

Call time for the students is 12:30pm at LHS. Students will get their uniforms on at this time in order to do a final fitting of our lighted parade outfits. We will then get on buses and depart by 2:00pm to travel to Fargo's Pizza in Colorado Springs. We will stop at Fargo's Pizza for lunch/dinner from 2-4:00pm. (Please note that students will need to bring money for this meal.) We will then transfer over to the Palmer High School Auxiliary Gym on N Nevada Ave. between E Boulder and E St. Vrain. The buses and cars with parents and other supplies will stop here to allow the students to change into their band uniforms/performance outfits and get their instruments ready to go. When the band is completely ready, the buses will travel to the end of the parade route and park on E Vermijo Ave. between S Tejon and S Nevada Ave. to wait for the band to finish the parade.

The Parade begins at 5:50pm and should begin performing on the street by 7:00pm and finish the parade by 7:45pm. We will then load the buses and travel back to LHS where we should arrive between 9:15-9:30pm.

Please see the following Information Sheet for additional info and a map of the parade:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/11lkbchf84uHUEFlcRnaMzf73Ai49cryras0EtSn79ss/edit?usp=sharing

For this parade, parents of Senior band members will have priority walking as volunteers with the band since this will be the Senior's last parade. (Lynn Wells will be organizing this. If you are a senior parent and would like to help, please let Lynn know by emailing her at lewells123@gmail.com. We will need approximately 12 volunteers.) All Band parents are welcome to join us in Colorado Springs at Fargo's Pizza and are highly encouraged to watch the parade which travels South on Tejon Ave. from E St. Vrain down to E Vermijo Ave. Like the Western Welcome Week and State Fair Parades, this is a one-way parade in which any parents with cars will need to figure out where to park in order to either march with the band or to watch the parade and get back to their car afterwards. We do have room for 10-12 parents to ride the buses for this event. Please let Mr. Emmons know if you'd like to ride the bus.
